What The Hell Is Normal Hair?!

Another dumb, but true textured hair story.

Chaz Wen had Holly Robinson-Peete promoting his product for the "black girlz" I guess. In the commercial she states, Wen products are great for African American hair...WHAT????!!!!! I couldn't write a letter fast enough. "WTF is African American hair?!" They did respond and I haven't seen that commercial since.

This was my message to the company:

I just saw the commercial with Holly Robinson-Pete and raced to my computer. I am consistently annoyed when huge white-owned corporations try to market their products to African-Americans and get it W-R-O-N-G! We are many shades and our hair has many textures. They is no hair texture in tricology that is called "African-American hair." That particular commercial needs to be revised and responsibly addressed as to what you're trying to market the product to. Chaz, being that you are the supposed expert, I would expect you would take the time to educate yourself better as to what the hair texture you're targeting is actually called. Damnit, if you're going to make uninformed attempts at getting us to spend our money on your product, don't define AA hair under one texture...UGH!!
